In August, a2b Fulfillment sponsored Second Harvest’s Food Distribution event in Greensboro, Ga. Held every third Saturday of the month at Greene County High School, the event distributes food to needy families in the area. Several a2b employees donated their time to assist in the effort, which distributed more than 8,500 pounds of dry goods and more than 5,000 pounds of fresh produce to 237 area families.
“All in all, it was a great day,” says Dave Davidson, treasurer of Second Harvest, Inc. “We’re thankful a2b Fulfillment had such a large part in sponsoring and volunteering for this August event.”
a2b Fulfillment has long been a supporter of the Second Harvest program, with several employees donating time every month. A signature project of the Rotary Club of Greene and Putnam Counties, program food is sourced through cash donations, a partnership with Feeding America affiliate Golden Harvest, and excess food from the local Ritz-Carlton Hotel and Publix Super Market.
“Second Harvest is a logistics operation in that you are using all available resources to gather and inventory food and then distribute it to a group in need,” says a2b Fulfillment President Ayal Latz. “It’s great to leverage our talents to fill a need within the community, and we’re proud of our employees for taking their time to volunteer for Second Harvest.”
